So you’re probably asking “What is Triphamr and what does it mean?” Well let me tell ya!

When I was around 14 years old I was out in the driveway helping my dad with some work on the house and he asked me to get him a hammer.  I walked off to the shed and swear I looked everywhere but I couldn’t find one!  Just as I turned to ask him where it was I heard him say “Don’t trip on the hammer, it might bite you in the butt!”. An odd thing to say (he was known for his sayings), but I looked down and low and behold there it was right near my feet.

So later on in my young adult years I came up with the name Triphammer as a catch phrase to help me realize that sometimes when you find yourself looking for something it might just be there at your feet, the Triphammer effect.  =)  Back in the early 90’s I shortened the name to Triphamr and used it as a personal tag in various online games and forums that I frequented and even used it as a business name “Triphamr Productions – ThP” when I was consulting.  Fast forward to today and we’re using it in the same context but no longer as a personal tag but as an identity for who we are as a family and community.

We’re live in Port Orange, Florida “the city of trees” and hurricanes, just south of legendary Daytona Beach.  We’re a small friendly family with a 7 year old boy who wants to be an astronaut and dresses up like super heroes even when it’s not Halloween; a mommy who used to sing chorus and had a pizza restaurant named after her; and a daddy who used to sing in a punk band and was a sergeant in the Army.

I’m the daddy, the admin and creator of the blog but in no way am I the only source, my family inspires me to write about them, what we do and experience.  The mommy is Christa and bless her heart she’s doesn’t always grasp the idea of technology (I don’t expect her to) but she learns quick and hopefully she’ll post here on occasion, she also takes a lot of the pictures.  The super hero you’ll see and hear plenty about, he’s our pride and joy.. that’s Logan.  He’s not posting yet but he does read the page quite often, he’s an awesome reader.

We’ve recently decided to make many needed changes in our life to include vegetarianism and adding to our efforts of gardening, sustainability and being eco-friendly.  So you can expect to find articles on technology, inspiration, sustainability, the environment, health, vegan and raw food, satire and my perspective on life as well as updates on how we’re doing making all these changes.
